Search
Find entries and tags instantly with Cmd+K global search.
Overview
Press Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) anywhere in the app to open global search. Search across entry names, body content, and tags — all within the current space.
What's Searched
Search scans three areas:
- Entry names — matches against entry titles
- Body content — searches the plain text extracted from Plate.js editor content (headings, paragraphs, list items, etc.)
- Tags — matches against tag names
Results are grouped into sections: Tags, Entries, and canvas tab sections by type — Maps, Battle Boards, and Whiteboards. Only sections with results are shown. Canvas results link directly to the specific tab within the entry.
Content Snippets
When a search query matches inside an entry's body content, a snippet of the matching text is shown below the entry title. The matched term is highlighted within the snippet, making it easy to differentiate entries with similar names.
Snippets show up to ~120 characters of surrounding context. Entries that only match by title (no body match) display without a snippet.
Template Filtering
Filter search results by template using the filter pills at the top of the search dialog. Click a template to toggle it — only entries of the selected templates will appear. Tags are always shown regardless of template filter.
Keyboard Navigation
The search dialog is fully keyboard-navigable:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Cmd+K | Open search |
| Arrow Up / Down | Move between results |
| Enter | Open the selected result |
| Escape | Close search |
Start typing immediately — the search field is focused when the dialog opens.
What's Excluded
Search results don't include:
- Archived entries and entries belonging to archived templates
- Trashed entries (entries in the trash)
- Entries from other spaces — search is scoped to the current space only
